What is Yuja Panorama?
YuJa is an accessibility checker tool integrated into a learning management system that helps instructors ensure their course content is accessible to all students, including those with disabilities. This tool automatically checks accessibility issues in digital content and provides guidance on how to resolve them. This guide will walk you through accessing and using YuJa Panorama within the learning environment.
Please Note
Accessibility checkers do not always give a full and accurate picture of if a document is truly accessible or not. Checkers can tell you when their are major issues but do not have enough context to know if it is fully accessible for the contents intended purpose after remediation.
How do I enable Yuja Panorama in my Moodle course?
The accessibility plugin is enabled by default for all visible credit courses. If your course is large and you've recently imported new materials from a previous term, YuJa may take several hours to initially index and display the rating icons correctly.
Not seeing Yuja icons in your Course?
Yuja is not enabled by default in Development shells, program and group shells, and others outside of Credit courses. Please contact ATC to get your development shells or other course types enabled for Yuja.
What do the scores and icons from Yuja mean?
Instructors will now see icons on their main Moodle course page indicating how accessible their content is.
Icons include:
- Excellent (Green)
- Fair (Yellow)
- Poor (Red).
- Alternative Formats not Available (Grey)
- Alternative Formats (Student View - Blue)

How do I use Yuja to fix my content?
Before working with Yuja on content in your course:
Yuja can make mistakes as most accessibility checkers can. We advise you to make a duplicate of the content in your course before starting to work with Yuja on a file. Yuja applies changes to documents and those changes are permanent for that active course once Apply Fixes has been selected during the process.
To begin remediating a document in a course:
- Select the colored Yuja icon to the right of the file.
- Select the Yuja meter at the top right of the pop-up, or you can hover over Accessibility report at the top and select View.
- Review the issues on the right and follow steps to apply fixes when possible.
Check out Yuja's article for more information on navigating and remediating content.
How do I access Yuja Panorama Reports?
The Yuja accessibility report can give you birds eye view of the scores across an entire course. It can also help with chunking accessibility work as it can group common issues across your files within your course.
The accessibility report is found in the course reports tab.
- Select Reports then YuJa Accessibility Report.

- A new tab will open, taking you to the YuJa Panorama interface. Use the Select Course button to choose the course you would like to view.

- You will see a dashboard that displays course accessibility scores, popular downloads, and a content summary. The Panorama Digital Accessibility Platform Overview page will give you a full breakdown of the layout and functionality.
